Thread seal tape is a film tape commonly used in sealing pipe threads. The tape is wound on a spool, making it easy to wind around pipe threads.
Using thread seal tape prevents threads from seizing should it need to be unscrewed. The tape also works as a thread lubricant to seal the joint without making it more difficult to tighten.
Typically the tape is wound around the pipe/fitting’s thread three times before it is screwed into place.
Application:
- Plumbing for sealing pipe threads.
- Sealing air compression equipment.
- Lubricates threads, and allows deep seating of the threads, and it aid threads from seizing when being tightened or loosened.
